John Liscomb Putnam correspondence and other material, 1812-1858 (bulk: 1835-1849)

Thirty-five letters received by Judge John L. Putnam. The bulk of the correspondence concerns estates in the Cornish, NH area though there is a letter by Horace Chase (1788-1875) concerning homestead conveyance. Other prominent correspondents include Daniel Greenleaf (1762-1853), Thomas Leland (1784-1849), and Henry Hubbard (1784-1857). Among the letters are a few documents: receipt from Lemuel and Solomon Wellman (1812); copy of a petition by Moses Chellis and 111 subscribers for a road in Croydon, Cornish and Plainfield (1830); warrants and minutes for a meeting of Trinity Church members of Cornish, March 1836 and March 1850; and a 1845 petition by thirty-one citizens of Hopkinton concerning the guardian of Susan Libby.
